Marketing Communications Manager - Mountain View

About the Role

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing, the Marketing Communications (Marcom) Manager leads all NeuroPace communications efforts, including developing corporate and product brands, aligning stakeholders around messaging and content, and creating impactful educational and promotional materials for patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.

The Marcom Manager responsibilities include:

  • Act as the central hub within the marketing organization to coordinate and support branding and marketing efforts across different communication channels and customer audiences, such as HCP education efforts, product launches, and direct-to-patient campaigns.
  • Drive the corporate and product brand strategy by working with external agencies to create best-in-class educational materials, sales collateral and marketing campaigns that will drive clinician adoption and inspire patient engagement.
  • Develop new and creative ways to communicate core messages to target audiences, including clear direction for creative development and delivery.
  • Ensure that brand identity and messaging is implemented consistently across multiple channels – medical meetings, educational materials, website, email campaigns, social media, advertising, tradeshow booths, etc.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, clinical, regulatory, and legal teams to manage the internal review process for marketing materials.
  • Manage agency partnerships to ensure projects are delivered on-time and on-budget.

VP Manufacturing Operations - Mountain View

The Vice President of Manufacturing Operations is responsible for the timely, efficient and economical production of products that meet or exceed quality standards and achieve company goals and objectives. He or she will be solely responsible to lead the manufacturing organization, utilizing advanced methods, such as, lean production and continual improvement techniques in conformance with FDA regulations. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President of Manufacturing Operations will work with leaders from the Commercial organization to establish and meet or exceed the Production Schedule.  In addition to achieving the production schedule, he or she will lead continuing improvement efforts to improve manufacturing yields, reduce materials cost and improve productivity.  Additionally, he or she will collaborate with leaders from appropriate parts of the organization to contribute to the creation and updates of the product roadmap. This position requires diverse operations management experience: strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance monitoring and reporting, personnel management, team building, team management, growth management, corporate compliance, streamlining, client management, operations workflows as well as knowledge of and compliance with company policies and guidelines.


Key responsibilities are directing the company’s manufacturing activities, including production operations, manufacturing engineering, materials management and equipment/facilities maintenance, to ensure maximum effectiveness is obtained for the production of quality products within specified time and budgetary guidelines. This position is accountable to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards, required delivery schedules are met, and leadership is provided in continuous improvement activities to successfully enable scalability while achieving corporate goals of quality, cost, and delivery.


Job Duties:

  • Create strategic relationships with all internal leaders and associates to design and execute manufacturing strategies and process improvements focused on improving manufacturing processes and yields as well as reducing manufacturing costs through innovative methodologies and established manufacturing principles such as, 5S, Lean, Single Piece Flow, and Six Sigma.
  • Improve operating margins by establishing, measuring, and meeting goals related, but not limited to on time delivery, cycle time reduction, yield improvement, internal rework and improved throughput.
  • Develop capacity planning strategies and define and implement the means to leverage existing electronic systems for improved prediction of resource needs.
  • Champion data-driven, continuous improvement efforts, in a solutions-oriented environment. Propose and support new ideas and help to implement them.
  • Formulate policies, programs, and objectives regarding the production schedule, product quality, and cost of manufactured products; maintain a shared accountability for gross margin with strong financial acumen to deliver on cost targets.
  • Collaborate with the Product Development and Research functions on new product development, pilot operations, implementation of manufacturing capability and design transfer.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and most importantly – inspiration ‐ to the Director of Manufacturing, Sr. Manager of Materials Management, Director of Business Process Excellence as well as the entire department and peers



  • 15+ years progressive manufacturing operations, leadership and strategy experience in low to medium volume manufacturing environments; demonstrated working knowledge of FDA QSRs and applicable ISO standards, such as ISO 13485
  • Knowledge and deployment of state-of-the-art manufacturing practices (including continuous flow and batch processes) as well as quality and continuous improvement techniques, strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent communication, interpersonal effectiveness, and leadership
  • Demonstrated leadership in Manufacturing Operations of complex electro‐mechanical devices; 5S, Lean, Six Sigma or other TQM process improvement. Current Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership in leveraging world class ERP, PLM, MES tools to optimize capacity planning, material movement, shop floor management, and reporting required.

Field Clinical Engineer - Philadelphia


  • Work effectively as part of a field team to advance the adoption of NeuroPace products in a commercial environment.
  • Facilitate the conduct of clinical trials by working with clinical investigators and NeuroPace clinical and regulatory personnel in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Insure patient safety to the maximum extent possible by adhering to all applicable regulations, standards and requirements.
  • Perform on-site training for physicians and allied health personnel.
  • Accurately and clearly present technical material to customers in small and large group settings.

Quality Engineer - Mechanical - Mountain View

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Provide quality assurance leadership and support for mechanical product development, design change efforts, and manufacturing through participation on project teams.  Perform the following types of tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements:
  • Support design verification and validation efforts through review of plans, review of design verification and validation protocols and reports
  • Support component and process verification and validation, design and technical reviews
  • Participate in risk management activities and assist in the management and maintenance of risk management documentation, such as process and design FMECAs, FTAs, risk analyses, etc.
  • Participate in design for manufacturability analyses, reviews, and design transfer activities
  • Support manufacturing cost reductions, yield improvements, and MRB failure analysis activities including process changes, tooling, and equipment.
  1. Provide quality oversight of suppliers by auditing suppliers, working with Development and Materials on supplier selection, evaluating supplier changes, communicating with suppliers on development of and qualification of new components/processes, and addressing performance issues as needed to ensure successful business relationships.
  2. Participate as a member of the engineering change board, ensuring that released parts and documents are accurate and complete; and ensuring that supporting documentation is adequate.
  3. Collect and analyze Quality Management System data as assigned and present results to management.


  1. BS degree in a recognized engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering
  2. 5 years minimum experience as a quality professional, preferably in a medical device or related industry
  3. Familiarity with FDA Quality System Regulations and ISO 13485:2003/2016 highly desirable.  Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, QS-9000, and knowledge of ISO safety standards is a plus.

Manufacturing Engineer - Mountain View

Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting all aspects of Manufacturing Operations at NeuroPace.

Maintain quality standards in and around manufacturing areas, ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel and helps to develop a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.



  • Write, review, and improve manufacturing procedures and forms in compliance with the quality system, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Development Engineers to create, review, and maintain manufacturing routers. Including verifying manufacturing labor times are properly calculated.
  • Support departmental responsibilities associated with training and qualifying manufacturing assemblers.
  • Assist in creating schematics and dimensional drawings for the Manufacturing
  • Support improvement programs for new and existing manufacturing programs/processes.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Propose alternative methods to continuously improve and optimize operating procedures, work flows, and data management.
  • Support activities related to validation of new and reworked equipment in the manufacturing areas.
  • Respond to manufacturing emergencies.
  • Maintain safety, quality, and GMP standards across all manufacturing areas.
  • Perform responsibilities while complying with NeuroPace Quality systems procedures.

  • Requires working knowledge in DFM, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, as well as DOE and Statistical Process Control.

Equipment & Facility Technician - Mountain View

Job Description:

    Responsible for supporting all aspects of manufacturing operations and facilities maintenance at NeuroPace. With direction from the Equipment and Facilities Supervisor, provide support for daily manufacturing maintenance operations and facilities activities.  Actively participates in the preventive maintenance and calibration programs.  Monitor and support manufacturing areas, perform daily equipment set-up, and make adjustments or repairs as required.  Respond to employees’ requests for facility’s support.  Maintain quality standards in and around manufacturing areas ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel and help to develop a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.


  • Maintain CMMS database, work orders, and ensure all applicable equipment is within the maintenance/calibration intervals.
  • Perform Calibration/Maintenance
    • On ESD workstations.
    • On SMC filter stacks.
    • On Static Ionizer.
  • Perform preventative maintenance
    • On the HVAC systems which supports manufacturing and administrative areas.
    • On all manufacturing related equipment.
    • On the facility as required.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineer(s) to ensure all existing manufacturing equipment is in order, available, validated and ready to produce when needed as per production schedule.
  • Provide technical support on equipment/facilities for validation and development purposes.
  • Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, equipment, and initiate re-ordering when necessary
  • Respond to manufacturing and/or facilities emergencies, which may include afterhours and/or weekends
  • Maintain safety, quality, and GMP standards across all manufacturing areas.
  • Respond to daily facilities requests including but not limited to: moving filing cabinets, fixing squeaky or unleveled doors, touch up painting, seismic bracing, replacing light bulbs, setting up for company meetings, installing furniture, etc., as needed.
  • Perform responsibilities while complying with NeuroPace Quality systems procedures.


  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required, AS or higher college degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years maintenance/equipment experience, preferably 2+ years working within a GMP and/or ISO 13485 environment.
  • 2-4 years’ facility maintenance experience, preferably in an FDA regulated site.

Production Planner/Buyer - Mountain View

Job Description:  Responsible for the planning, scheduling, coordinating, purchasing and monitoring of products through the complete production cycle.


  • Responsible for planning product builds, component purchases and subassemblies to support the manufacturing plan while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Proactively communicate changes in demand to manufacturing.
  • Lead/participate in Master Scheduling meetings.
  • Attend daily production meetings.
  • Purchase material as needed to support schedules.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the item master and vendor lead time data in the ERP system.
  • Responsible for obtaining quotes and negotiating with suppliers.
  • Assist in developing new supplier sources where suppliers are inadequate or when new suppliers / technologies are required.
  • Work with the Quality department to assure the timely flow of product through QC inspection processes as well as the appropriate disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Provide input pertaining to obsolete material.
  • Able to evaluate suppliers based upon price, quality, service support, reliability and selection.
  • Resolve shop order variances and determine/track root causes.
  • Analyze purchase price variances.
  • Ensure that marketing/clinical needs are met.
  • Communicate possible product shortages to Customer Service
  • Provide support in stockroom, shipping and receiving when required.

Product Manager - Mountain View

Job Description:

NeuroPace is seeking a passionate, medical device product manager with launch experience. The role of Product Manager covers both upstream and downstream activities. The Product Manager will be responsible for NeuroPace’s responsive neurostimulation therapy for the treatment of refractory epilepsy.

Specific Responsibilities include:

Downstream marketing

  • Responsible for managing commercial products through the entire product lifecycle.
  • Establish product positioning and competitive messaging.
  • Develop launch plans and manage early-phase commercial activities. Lead cross-functional teams through all aspects of the product launch process, including inventory forecasting, pricing, and customer targeting.
  • Develop launch materials and sales training materials, including product literature, brochures, sales aids, videos and any other collateral material required to support sales, training and key marketing messages.
  • Participate in internal/external training activities, including training the field team and customers on new product features and benefits.
  • Measure product success through post-launch product feedback to ensure revenue optimization.
  • Be an internal subject matter expert on all product and user-experience feedback.  Lead and manage usability feedback or market preference testing as needed.
  • Track competitive products and emerging technology, and provide messaging/competitive materials to field as necessary.
  • Serve as primary contact for other functional groups (developers, designers, quality, regulatory)
  • Provide updates to sales relating to publications, product support and/or product development activities.

Upstream Marketing:

  • Work with the rest of the marketing organization and cross functional counterparts to create a robust long range strategic plan through market sizing, analysis of NeuroPace internal competencies and adjacencies that could be fruitful business development partnerships
  • Develop business cases to guide investment decisions within the product portfolio.
  • Represents the voice of the customer by clearly understanding customer needs, providing use-case examples and marketing requirements documents to engineering. Serves as the primary bridge between market feedback and requirements and R&D.
  • Participate in cross-functional core development teams, representing the commercial side of the business within those teams
  • Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
